The story of the region begins with The Erie. Their history is shrouded in mystery, as the only records of them come down from a brief description by the Jesuit priest, Etienne Brulé. Everything else we know is second-hand from the Wyandot, Huron and Iroquois who moved into their lands after the Erie nation lost The Beaver Wars.
